iaminawe created a dark visual mashup of stock footage, 3D Animation, 2D flash animation, motion graphics and footage shot in and around Cape Town. The production was a contempory retelling of the Greek tragedy of Oedipus and was met with great feedback. Iaminawe created the animation based on the actors in the production and the highly technical production went off without a hitch… until a fire partially destroyed the stage and cut the run short.
This animation edit is a combination of the animation that we created as well as photos that we took of the production while it was running. It gives a cool overview of some of the theatre work we do as it really contextualises the screen within the set and how a lot of these animations look projected on a 16m X 10m screen.
The awesome music for the production was created by Black Belt Jones who of course we did an identity for too.
Iaminawe were also involved in the poster and microsite for the production.

The show runs from July 10-31st at Artscape Theatre in Cape Town and iaminawe are preparing some fresh animation and video art for a mixed media multi projector eyecandy explosion that promises to be both dark and humorous at the same time.
